THE WAY OF PATANJALI

The Summer Intensives are a platform that allow you to dive deeper into the art and science of yoga. Going beyond asanas these trainings give you tools to live and thrive in this world following the principles of yogic perspectives and understandings..  

This July we’ll dive deep into the art of meditation and learn how to tame the mind and connect it to the heart for Healing. You ll also explore the functionings of your nervous system and the many insights of Patanjali through the wisdom of the Yoga Sutras.

WHAT IS THIS TRAINING ABOUT?

- YOGA PRACTICE
Lots of it. Because yoga is first and foremost an experiential approach. You will explore how to approach your yoga practice in a way that supports your health and boosts your energy levels.

- ANATOMY OF YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
Because in yoga practice we use our body quite intensely it is so useful to have some science-backed anatomical guidelines.
We will look at what’s going on “under your hood” so that you can tune into your nervous system (Neuroception) and learn to Self-regulate for optimal functioning and living.

- PHILOSOPHY AND INSIGHTS OF THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI
Yoga philosophy gives us a contextual framework to support our practice while remaining close to the original intentions of yoga. We will unpack the key principles of the yoga sutras so that you can tame your mind.

YOGA PRACTICE

Yoga practice will be based on functional Ashtanga, accessible to all yogis who want to grwo in their personal yoga practice, whether Ashtanga or not.. 

  • More focused on holistic approach of yoga than following the “traditional” Ashtanga method.

  • Mysore style as a Self-practice environment to support healing, nourishment, exploration and deepening within a holistic approach. 

  • A space for you to cultivate well-being, grounding and centeredness..

  • Functional and holistic feedback from the daily practice.

MEDITATION PRACTICE

Each day we will practice semi-guided meditations.

  • Similar to the Mysore process we will grow into our meditation practice layer by layer. 

  • Damien’s approach to meditation is very user-friendly and ensures that anyone can enjoy and develop into mindful awareness.

LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD

Experiential Anatomy to cultivate presence through embodiment

  • Theoretical key points as they apply to each branch of your nervous system tree. 

  • How to develop your Neuroception on your yoga mat to create vagal anchors for  daily living. 

  • Nervous system being the house of your mind, we will explore conceptual awareness to help you let go of limiting beliefs and expand you potential.

DECODING THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI

Exploring the most ancient science of your mind.

  • Foundational principles of yoga practice and meditation

  • Integrating Kriya yoga into your life

  • Application and exploration of the 8 limbs of yoga

  • Disease and healing from a holistic perspective.

  • Daily meditations to grow toward the light within you .

    - 7:00 - 7:30 Meditation practice
    - 7:30 - 9:30 Mysore Asana practice
    - 9:30 - 10:30 Breakfast (included)
    - 10:30 - :00 Theory class (Alternate anatomy & philosophy)

  • Saturday & Sunday
    Free - rest - explore - chillax..
