Ashtanga Mysore Style

Mysore style is the traditional method for practicing Ashtanga Yoga which is learned by memorizing the postures of the Ashtanga sequences so that each student can practice at their own pace and to their own ability. The teacher doesn’t lead the class but walks around the room and offers personalized instruction, assistance or adjustments to each student. It is akin to a private class in a group setting. The class is taught by Andrea or Damien, the founders and DNA of Ubuntu, who have 20 and 33 years practicing yoga respectively.

All levels welcome.
Monday - Friday 7:30 - 9:30 a.m.

Newcomers to the system will practice for about 1 hour and are required to commit for 12 classes to 3 weeks minimum to learn basics of the method.

Guided Ashtanga

Ashtanga is a dynamic and somewhat challenging style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures. It was developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India, and is typically practiced in a set sequence of postures, with a focus on synchronizing breath with movement and building heat in the body.

In the Guided Ashtanga class the teacher leads you along the sequence and takes the time to break down the sometimes complex postures as well as offering modifications to make the practice accessible to all.. It is the perfect class to begin your Ashtanga journey.

All levels welcome.
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays 10:00-11:15 a.m.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is an energetic and revitalising form of yoga that seamlessly integrates breath with movement. During this practice, a series of poses, or asanas, are choreographed to flow together in a smooth sequence, synchronised with the breath. The term "vinyasa" itself means "to place in a special way," underscoring the deliberate arrangement of poses.

This style of yoga not only fosters physical well-being but also cultivates mental clarity and stress relief. It encourages a sense of unity between body, mind, and breath, ultimately culminating in a greater overall vitality and equilibrium in one's life.

Beginners Yoga

Our beginner yoga class is designed to introduce the essential elements of yoga, focusing on basic poses and the foundational practices that underpin the discipline.

This class emphasizes the importance of breath control, the activation of core energy locks (bandhas), and maintaining a focused gaze (drishti), which together enhance both physical stability and mental clarity.

Ideal for newcomers or those looking to deepen their understanding of yoga's core principles, the sessions provide a supportive and inclusive environment where each participant can explore their potential and connect more deeply with their inner self.

Every Sunday at 10:00-11:15 a.m.
