Ashtanga Mysore Style

Mysore style is the traditional method for practicing Ashtanga Yoga which is learned by memorizing the postures of the Ashtanga sequences so that each student can practice at their own pace and to their own ability. The teacher doesn’t lead the class but walks around the room and offers personalized instruction, assistance or adjustments to each student. It is akin to a private class in a group setting. The class is taught by Andrea or Damien, the founders and DNA of Ubuntu, who have 20 and 33 years practicing yoga respectively.

Newcomers to the system will practice for about 1 hour and are required to commit for 6 classes within 2 weeks minimum to learn basics of the method.

Guided Ashtanga

Ashtanga is a dynamic and somewhat challenging style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures. It was developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India, and is typically practiced in a set sequence of postures, with a focus on synchronizing breath with movement and building heat in the body.

In the Guided Ashtanga class the teacher leads you along the sequence and takes the time to break down the sometimes complex postures as well as offering modifications to make the practice accessible to all.. It is the perfect class to begin your Ashtanga journey.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa Flow, a practice based and rooted in Ashtanga but giving a broader variety of poses and not repeating the same sequence as done in Ashtanga. The idea is to keep a dynamic practice starting with a warm up, leading to standing poses, sitting and finishing with cool down asanas.

All levels are welcome and when needed the poses can be modified to the individuals needs and limitations.

Come and practice strength , flexibility, inversions, backbends, blended into a flow, connected with breath and movement.

Together, We will find stability both in the body and in the mind.

Alignement Yoga

Alignment Flow yoga focuses on “Universal Principles of Alignment,” which guide practitioners in performing each pose with mindful awareness and precision. These principles help to create balance, strength, and flexibility in the body while cultivating an energetic flow that promotes harmony between body, mind, and spirit.

In addition to the physical practice, Alignment Flow yoga encourages practitioners to explore self-expression and joy in their practice.

Alignment classes typically begin with an inspirational theme or intention, followed by a series of postures that build progressively in difficulty, allowing students to explore their physical and mental limits while staying aligned with the heart’s intention.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a meditative practice that involves holding poses for extended periods, targeting connective tissues to enhance range of motion, mobility, and flexibility. This practice aids in releasing tension, improving body awareness, and rejuvenating both body and mind. Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, it balances the body’s energy, making it an excellent complement to your Yang practice.

Power Flow

In this class we will start with meditation and breath to set the body temperature. We will play with different breath conditioning that help guide us from thinking to being.

The power flow class is like a cardio on your mat. You will guaranteed to sweat by the end of the practice.

As we travel from breath to breath, the sequencing comprises of stability, balancing and strength. Although we will have a lot of flow. Some parts hold long pauses this is where actually the ‘Power’ comes in. The practice also has lots of planks holds, all kinds of planks and crunches. Some creative shapes renders muscles that never been rendered before. It is rich poses class that hits all area, in the end your whole body will left feeling relax and whole.

The class is infused with reminder to tap into your heart. The breath takes us here and which is the most important - to enjoy the flow, this moments.

Just like in life to know when to soften and let go of control or thinking mind is a real ‘Power’.
